Adventures with Bitty Babies and Twins: A Bed Time Story

"Polly, do you want me to read you a bedtime story," asked Bitty Baby, "Yes, of course," Polly answered.

"Let us read one of your favorites, "the Princess and the Beggar," that's the one, It all began on a sunny day...." Bitty Baby said.

Now this Princess would go always on an evening walk, this time she went with her favorite bear and a delicious cupcake baked by the royal baker. "Oh this cupcake is not fit to eat," the princess said, "it has not enough sprinkles on it, I shall not eat it!"

During he walk, there was a poor beggar who did not have anything to eat, "I am so hungry," she cried. "Oh look! there is a Princess, Princesses are kind, maybe she will give me something to eat," she thought to herself.

So the beggar went up to the princess, "Kind princess will you give me something to eat," the beggar asked. "No, I certainly shall not," the Princess replied hotly. "Please, maybe that cupcake," the beggar pleaded.

"Since you want this unfit cupcake, do you know what I will do with it?" the Princess said. "yes, you will give it to me," the beggar proclaimed. "No, I will not," the princess exclaimed, and she threw the cupcake on the dirt and stepped on it and left.

When the Princess was sleeping, she dreamed of a beautiful lady, "who are you?" the princess asked, "I am your fairy godmother, and I come to tell you that how you treated the poor beggar was wrong," the beautiful lady told her. "I merely did not give her My cupcake," the princess responded.

"You could have given her at least some money for her to eat, but instead you humiliated her, would you want to be treated that way?" the beautiful lady asked. The Princess felt bad, "what did I do, I should have never treated her like that, a princess is supposed to be kind but instead I was selfish." Then the beautiful lady disappeared.

The next morning, the Princess went for her walk but this time she brought the most delicious cupcake ever, and her favorite bear. "Hi," she said to the beggar, "Please leave me alone," the beggar asked. 'I want to say sorry," the Princess said, "I was mean and selfish to you, here is a cupcake and my teddy bear."

"I forgive you, thank you for the cupcake, but you can keep the bear your majesty," the beggar said. "No thank you, this bear is yours now it is little token of my repentance, do you want to be my friend? she asked. "Yes, Of course," the beggar said.

So you see Polly, though the princess was mean, she changed to become a kind princess and a good friend. The End. "I like that story," said Polly, "I like it too," replied Bitty Baby.

"Good Night Bitty Baby," said Polly with a yawn. "Good Night too, Polly," Bitty Baby said.
